We are going to the crime scene this weekend. So now we are booking different people to visit. First we will visit the florist and talk about the bouquet. I have printed at lot of images and have written down what I like and what I expect and what I don't like. I have written down colors and flower types. I think I have all covered =)
After that are we going to visit the gold smith and at last order my wedding ring. I'm excited and can't wait to try it on, even though that will be a couple of months in the future...
We where trying to book a visit at the cake-factory =) as well, but they only accept visitors on weekdays, so we have to plan going there another time. I think we have rather good view of what the cake will taste like, but the look of the cake is another matter...
We will also go looking for underwear for me. Something that is comfy under the wedding dress.
Well, the weekend is fully planned.
We haven't broken the budget yet and plans is going easy.
Wonder when something out of the blue will hit us? Maybe when we get the price suggestion for the honeymoon I'm planning... that will for sure break the budget!
And we actually have a problem. My work will force me to take three weeks’ vacation when I don't want to, which means that I don't have enough days to cover the honeymoon *sigh* we can't afford to go on unpaid vacation and I would hate to limit the honeymoon!
This means that we might postpone the honeymoon to next spring...

I haven't forgotten about you!
No, not at all, it is just that there are so much going on at the moment and I'm absolutely not in wedding planning mode. Anyway, a few things have happened since my last note (well.. shame if it hasn't it's sooo long since last time).
I have decided upon a ring =) and the goldsmith have come up with a price that is in our liking! So both a good looking, sparkling little thing and within our budget. It'll look something like this, but with much smaller stones and much more petit.

My engagement ring will be adapted so they will fit together.
We have also been looking and deciding cloths for the man to be. He looks gorgeous! Just look at this

Don't ask me what he is looking for =)
A close up of the details in the waistcoat.

The cravat is made from the same fabric that will be used in my wedding dress. The lilac color is not showing very good on photo :/
Yesterday we created a webpage about our wedding and started with the gift list, but none of this is public yet.
We have also been discussing about the honeymoon. Our first thought was to go on safari, but when we have discussed and looked at proposed routes it doesn't feel 100%. So I proposed that we should go to China instead, much since I liked it very much the first (and only) time I've been there, and my fiancé agreed that it could be nice, so we have been to a travel agency and collected some brochures. We might change our minds again, but at the moment I think both of us are rather excited about it. Doesn't this look inviting?

I promised you...
... some pictures of my tiara. I know, it was a while ago, but I haven't forgotten.

It is not very fancy, but it sparkles and fits really well on my head =)
I think I'll go for something like this when it comes to the hair-do, even though my hair isn't that long.

Oh, way is it such a long time to the wedding??? I want to do it NOW!
Well... maybe not exactly now... it is very grey and it is rain in the air... but sooner. =)

Seeing each other before the wedding
As I have mentioned in another post, I'm a bit unsure whether we should take the wedding photos before or after the ceremony. My fiancé talked to a photographer the other day about wedding photos and he recommended taking the photos before the wedding. I'm more and more into this thinking and just read this
There is a long series of blog posts about this topic at the Planning forever events blog. Here is another post in the same series.
When a couple gets to meet before the wedding, the groom is able to take his time and really look at his bride. Notice the details of her dress, her hair, the way her makeup is done. It’s a perfect time to talk about what you are about to do, exchange gifts or love notes, cry, laugh and enjoy the fact that you are about to embark upon an interesting journey..

Now it is definitive =)
As I wrote in this post, not all the money needed for the wedding was secured, but now it is! We are going to contact the church and the 'castle' where we are going to have the reception and do the final booking. Oh... I guess it is usual to have 'second thoughts' now when it is really definitive. =)
Don't take me wrong, I do very much want to marry my fiancé and live the rest of my life with him, but it is sooo much money! I have a million things I could spend them on instead. =)
But this is what we both want to do and if we are going to do it, it should be proper and as we dream of. I don't want to feel too much hold back because of the money.
Enough talk about money!

Talented photographer
When I was doing my usual blog-hopping today I run into the blog of Jessica Claire. She has just gotten married herself (and had a wonderful autumn bouquet), but she is also a talented photographer. She is showing some of her photos in her gallery and I particular liked the photos from Trisa & Doug. They are such a good looking couple and the photos perfectly capture their love.
I hope we will be able to find such a talented photographer for our wedding, who will be able to capture both feelings and the light and atmosphere. Jessica, you don't want to go to a trip to Sweden? =)
When talking wedding photos... I'm not sure if we are going to do the photo shot before or after the ceremony? I feel a little bit stressed over doing it after the ceremony since all guests have to wait for us and I'm afraid I can't relax and enjoy the moment.
On the other side, if we are doing it before the ceremony, then we might not be able to relax because of what is coming. You out there who already are married, can you give me any help? How did you do and how did it work out?

Weddingflowers part 1
Today I'll look for inspiration on wedding flowers. I'm a bit lost here, I and my fiancé are not fancying the same things and I have a bit difficulty to put a finger on what I really like. So I'll start here by trying to describe that for you and then maybe it gets easier...
I'm very much a country girl and like to grow my own flowers in my own garden. I would love to be able to grow the flowers that are in my bouquet. Just the feeling of being able to walk outside in the summer and pick my wedding bouquet once again is wonderful. Maybe not as nicely tied as from a Florist but still, it is the same flowers, the same fragrance and the same colors. I actually think this is the most important part of the bouquet!
So where to go from here... Scented flowers, easily grown in our climate and nice colors that enhances the dress. The form of the bouquet is less important for me, but not too big and heavy. I also like ribbons and the natural feeling of the American type of bouquet where the stems of the flowers are wrapped in ribbon.

Flowers that come to my mind for easily growing are roses, stock (Matthiola incana) which scents wonderful, sweet peas (Lathyrus odoratus) also scenting, Lavendel, Lady’s Mantle (Alchemilla mollis), Dahlia, Hydrangea, Scabious and lots of others. For greenery there are ferns, different grasses and berries and leaf from different trees.
This means that we also can grow some of these flowers ourselves for the wedding and we don't have to buy so many... that will at least save some coins.
Regarding color I'm totaly lost. Should I go for lilac and purple and what can I mix them with? Or should I go for white/creme flowers? Or maybe something yellow or orange? What do you think?? Please leave a comment and let me know!
Now I'm off looking for flowers in magazines and the internet (what a great resource!!).

Date decided
Just to let you know. We have decided a date for the wedding. It is so exciting and it feels like things are starting to get real. Nerves! =)
We have booked the church and the castle for the 14th of August 2010.
Still a lot can change and we still need to find the money to support this wedding, but the plans are getting really real.
Both I and my fiancé are excited and both spend time searching for information and talking about wedding details. I don't know about him, but my hardest time is to not tell everyone I meet about our plans. At the moment is it just his parents and brother and his wife and my parents who know. None of our friends are aware of it... yet.
I know we have to send out save the date cards soon, because our friends are living a very hectic life and need to be told asap so they can stop planning for something else on this date. Just need to set the budget (or find the way to fulfill the budget...)
I have started to look for designs for the invitations (I'll try to do them myself) but am struggling with the color theme. I know I'll have some dress with color in it but not what color. I have some clues though...
